why cultivate?
Cultivate Herbals was inspired by the joy of being in deeper relationship with plants, self, and community. The word Cultivate specifically highlights the process of tending. It honors the reciprocity between plants and people.
On the surface, we’re offering tinctures and salves, but ultimately, we’re offering an invitation to connect with plants as you would with a new friend. Through these connections, we find more agency and increased capacity for health and vitality.
Can you grow more calm, more connection, more rest, more energy, more joy, more pleasure?
What will you cultivate?
farmer & product maker
Shelly didn’t grow up with herbs and can hardly remember even cooking with them, except for a tin of stale oregano that reminded her of pencil shavings (remember those?). It wasn’t until she met sunny calendula as an adult that she became smitten and started learning everything she could. She dabbled in self study for a few years before completing the Foraging and Medicine Making programs with the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine in 2022. She spent the fall of 2025 at Herb Pharm in Williams, OR, tending and harvesting herbs with the farm team, learning from several area herbalists, and building deep connection to the land and a group of equally plant-lovin’ friends. She returned home with a full heart and a fire in her belly. She is continuing her studies with Herbal Academy.
When she’s not busy talking to her plants, Shelly is a gym manager and yoga instructor for CWB Fight Club. She holds a 200hr YTT certificate from Ignite Institute for Yogic Leadership and Social Change. You might spot her out walking with her partner around town or along the Green Circle (again, talking to plants). She also loves crafting and curling up with a good book and her two cats.
